You will Prosper through God's Word
You know when God speaks there are layers to what He says that amaze me. There is such goodness in His voice. There is a simplicity in His answer and yet the greatest wisdom is found there. He is the beginning and the end of wisdom.
At night before I sleep, I will ask God to speak to me regarding heart matters I am wrestling with. That is what I did when I asked the Lord for a financial strategy and the answer, I received came to me in the form of a dream. I was in the spirit in this dream, and I was fighting the enemy. The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) but Jesus comes to give abundance in life (same verse). If we know this, then we know how to understand when something is from God and when something is from the enemy. The enemy causes fear with his answers but the Lord strengthens and brings peace.
The scripture says in John 15:7-8, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples.”
So being in Christ and in the word is vitally important. Jesus is the word. In John 1:1 we are introduced to Jesus in the following way, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” So, the Word, God and Jesus are the same thing. We receive one we receive all. Jesus is the bread of life that brings health to our whole being. He is the manna that comes from heaven and always sustains.
In my dream I heard the Lord speak. He said, “If you want to prosper in the coming year then get into my word. I will prosper you through the word.” I then saw myself slaying the enemy with a sword, which as you know from Ephesians 6 represents the word of God. The Word of God that comes through the written word or Logos and the Rhema word that comes by the Holy Spirit. We must be in the word and always seeking God’s voice. This is how we remain in Him. We meditate upon His word. We focus our minds upon Him and when He speaks (and He will speak) we obey his voice and we are blessed.
God wants to bless your life. I have been so blessed by God. When I first came to Christ I was a very broken man filled with fear and trembling. God spoke to me in those early days (now 20 years ago, which amazes me because what He spoke is still fresh in my ear. He said, “I will bless your entire life. You will have family and I will prosper you. You will have a home and you will have a ministry.”
I was a divorced man in those days. I was broken. I could not believe that God had good things in store for my life when He spoke this to me initially, but it gave me a hope and a future. The enemy was taunting me in those days to commit suicide. He was trying to help me end my life but here was God speak and giving me something to hold onto.
I hope you never experience a divorce. It is one of the most painful things that you can go through. And there is much shame attached to it. I have always regretted that part of my life. I wish I had listened to God more carefully when I was young. A poor decision made on your own wisdom can lead to misery and death.
When I came to the lord at the age of 32, I determined to abide in His word. I determined that I would let the Holy Spirit guide me. I wanted to live for God. I wanted to be fruitful. I wanted the best that He had in store for me and was willing to do whatever it took, and I am thankful to say all these years later I have lived in absolute abundance and bounty.
God is true to His word. Every day I minister to people who have done their own thing rather than waiting on God. They seem to believe that God will not speak to them. Their own desire for whatever it is they want is often louder than their desire to be in Christ. They want a marriage more, or money more (or whatever it is). They want to be in Christ until the worries of this life get to them and then they begin to live in their way.
I am not judging at all. I have been there. We have all been there, but it is time to get a little stronger now. I am praying. I declare that God does have a good plan for your life. He does have something good in store for you and it is never too late to enter it. All it takes is determination in your heart that starting now you will remain in His voice. He has fruit in store for your life and that fruit is good.
I declare over you that you will walk in the steps that God has for you, and your life and your families’ lives will be blessed. God is good and His mercies are new every morning. You will prosper in His word. That is my experience and it will be your experience also.
